It is evident that children are lacking in sanskara due to the current education system, influenced by the stress of modern lifestyles driven by science, technology, and globalization. The present educational approach, to some extent, has a psychological impact, inducing fear of examinations rather than fostering natural happiness. Time-honored values such as common brotherhood, equality, mutual respect, and joint family concepts are gradually diminishing. Additionally, essential human values like honesty, cooperation, kindness, and meaningful manners are also fading away.
To fulfill the mission of our samiti, envisioning schools as centers of social transformation, we must contemplate the purpose and objectives of education. Have these objectives been achieved, and if not, why? In what direction should our efforts be focused? Identifying current necessities and understanding the factors influencing education quality parameters are perpetual thought-provoking questions.
In this context, Srikottal Basaveshwara Bharatiya Shiksha Samiti was established on the auspicious day of Vasanth Panchami in 1974. Under the guidance of the spiritual personality, Mouna Yogi Lingaikya Pujjya Sri Madivallayya Swamiji, and in the presence of the revered deity Sri Kottal Basaveshwara, our educational journey began with Bal Bharati Shishu Mandir, evolving into a significant educational hub encompassing Bala Bharati Vidya Mandir, Matrachaya High School, various PU colleges, Nrupatunga First Grade and PG Centre, English medium schools following state syllabus and CBSE, as well as a Law college, among others. The pride lies in our students who, having studied in our institutions, now serve in esteemed positions both in India and abroad, realizing the gradual fulfillment of our dreams.
Recognizing that a child’s future is shaped within the classroom, our samiti identifies diverse inherent talents among students. In addition to formal syllabus education, we strive to provide conducive education through various informal education initiatives, fostering logical thought processes. Our Shiksha Samiti not only emphasizes the all-round development of students within our programs but also extends efforts to provide special training to schools and colleges in seven districts of Kalyana Karnataka through our experienced teachers.
Furthermore, our commitment extends beyond educational programs. We contribute to the community by distributing computers, invaluable books, and financial aid for constructing buildings in educational institutions. We support science laboratories, provide scholarships to economically disadvantaged yet meritorious students, and offer continuous training to our teachers in Science, Arts, English, and Computer Science.
Understanding that the role of a Guru is crucial, we continually invest in the professional development of our teachers to enhance the overall standard of education. In the realm of agricultural development, we exhibit agricultural implements, offer training in agricultural knowledge, publish literature to encourage local writers, and provide free sewing machines to empower economically challenged women.
In essence, our samiti is dedicated to not only addressing the shortcomings in the current education system but also actively contributing to the holistic development of individuals and the community at large.
